본 과목은 우리 주변의 경제 현상을 체계적으로 해석하는 방법을 다룬다. 특히 다음과 같은 주제를 중점적으로 검토하며 체계적인 경제 분석능력을 연마하고자 한다. 국민소득, 물가, 이자율, 실업률, 고용, 임금, 소비, 투자 등은 어떻게 결정되며 그들 간의 상호관계는 무엇인가? 국민소득은 어떠한 원리를 따라 결정되고 분배되
는가? 호황과 불황은 왜 일어나며 대책은 무엇인가? 환율과 국제수지는 어떻게 결정되는가? 정부의 제반 경제정책이 경제활동에 대해 미치는 영향은 무엇이며 경제정책의 공과를 어떻게 평가할 것인가? 이러한 물음에 대하여 주로 경제학의 거시경제 분야를 중심으로 강의를 진행한다.

The purpose of this course is to cultivate the ability to systematically analyze various economic problems which occur through the economy. The following topics in particular will be examined. How are national income, price, interest rate, unemployment rate, employment, wage, consumption, investment, etc. determined and what are the mutual relations between them? By what principle is national income decided and allocated? Why do booms and recessions appear and what is the solution for them? What effect does the government’s economic
policy have on economic activities and how are we going to evaluate the merits and demerits of those economic policies?The course mainly cover the macroeconomics area in Economics.
