본 강좌는 시장경제에서 산업 및 시장의 수직적 그리고 수평적 구조의 결정과 시장구조가 그 구성원들의 행동 및 성과에 미치는 영향을 논의한다. 보다 구체적으로 여러 생산 단계를 거치는 생산에서 산업의 경계가 어떻게 결정되며, 각 기업이 그 단계들 중에서 어떤 부분을 포함할 것인가 하는 수직적 문제와 각 산업에서 경쟁구조가 어떻게 결정되며 그렇게 결정된 경쟁구조가 그 산업의 생산량이나 가격 등에 어떤 영향을 미치는가 하는 수평적 문제가 분석의 대상이 된다. 학기 전반부의 강의는 최근까지 발전된 게임이론을 요약하여 소개하며 실제 산업에서의 전략의 활용에 관하여 논한다. 학기 후반부의 강의는 산업조직 이론의 주제별로 강의를 전개하며 각 주제에 맞추어 이론과 사례를 소개한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course deals with the structure of modern industries and how it affects their performance. Specific subjects includes the horizontal competitive relationship among the firms in the same industry and the vertical relationship between firms in different stages of production. In addition, this course introduces the game theoretic approach to economic analysis. Topics include extensive and normal form games, games with imperfect information or incomplete information, and repeated games. Also the course covers the application of the game theory models on financial issues such as adverse selection and moral hazard.
