화폐에 관한 다양한 이론을 학습하고 이들 이론을 현실경제에 응용한다. 특히 화폐의 수요, 공극과 이자율이론, 중앙은행의 기능 및 통화신용정책 등을 중심으로 논의를 전개하며, 통화량이 경기변동, 인플레이션, 이자율, 주가 등 경제의 영향을 미치는 경로와 그 효과에 대해서 공부함으로써, 경제현상에 대한 이해를 높이는 것을 목적으로 한다.
교과목해설(영문)
The main objective of the course is to help students understand the core aspects of monetary economy. For that purpose, the lecture discusses on the definition of money, demand for and supply of money, interest rates, and monetary polices of central banks. For each topic covered, a core body of theories, issues, and evidence will be presented and discussed. Thereby students in the class will learn why money matters and how interest rates are determined in the economy.
